Generally speaking, I really dislike natural and/organic deodorants. They generally do not work. Which is a shame, really.

Which is why I needed to post this and scream: STOP THE PRESS!!!!!!!!!! for this little baby:

Ok ok ok ok so it’s not Superman, but it IS an effective natural-deodorant. Surprising, no? 🙂

Dr Organic is a UK based natural/organic skin care brand and this deodorant is by far the best natural deodorant I have ever used. It cost me about AUD $12.00 from my local health food shop so it was admittedly pricey ($12 for a deodorant…!!!) but sooo worth it. I chose the manuka honey variety so didn’t bother with a perfume (the smell is pleasant but strong). If you’re not a fan of strong-smelling skincare products, then please note that this product is also available in ‘pomegranate’ and ‘aloe’ as well – so get the latter for something that smells more subtle. Indeed, I’ll probably get the aloe next time.

The most important thing is, of course, that this thing WORKS. It’s not going to be sufficient for post-sport or exercise but it’ll certainly do the job for anybody who has an 8-hour work schedule like the rest of us. Sounds obvious but I don’t want to sweat and/or smell if I’m using deodorant – and this one definitely stops the latter, even if it’s not much of an anti-perspirant. It’s also a decent size and comes in standard, roll-on packaging:

For an example of a natural herbal deodorant that smells pretty nice but, alas, does not work then one only has to consider Herb Valley’s offering. As far as results are concerned, let’s just say that the smell at the end of the day under my armpit was distinctly different to the smell I started off with after application in the morning… ._.

  1. Hmm, I may have to splurge on this! It’s so true that Natural Deodorant that works is hard to find. I’m not a big fan of roll-ons but you may have convinced me to try. 😉 Thanks for posting!

    • Hey there! No worries, it was a nice surprise for me too. I’ll be trying the Dr Hauschka and Thursday Plantation versions too so I’ll post about that when I can. Good luck with your search! 🙂 x
