Swatches, Review: Illamasqua – “‘Imperfection’ Speckled Nails polish collection,” (5 x 15ml)

What with this being the season of birth, joy and too many chocolate eggs, I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate to do than… well, another nail polish review, of course. Duh.

That was the sound that was made by my wallet when I purchased the entire nail range from Illamasqua’s new, limited-edition “I’MPERFECTION” (imperfection) collection. It consists of five BEAUTIFUL pastel creme/jelly polishes; each has had a good dose of small black hex and black micro-glitter pieces added.

The overall effect, when manicured, is that of a kind of speckled bird’s egg. I fell in love the moment I set eyes in Myer:

I know, I know. The photo doesn’t do it justice. But SRSLY I had to check out the testers, which obviously happened within the next ten minutes. One colour per nail, yep. Here are all of the delicately-named colours:

• “Fragile” – light powder blue creme avec specks. This is the first one I bought. The creme colours is so versatile that I would recommend this as the essential colour representative of the entire collection;
• “Mottle” – pastel-mint green creme avec specks. A close second to “Fragile.” Literally – I went and bought this one the day after 🙂
• “Speckle” – an aptly-named lilac-purple creme with specks. Part of the splurge that happened tonight when I when and just bought the rest of them;
• “Scarce” – a rose-pink creme with specks. Lighter and thinner consistency than the first three, for some reason. Part of the ‘big splurge’;
• “Freckle” – sepia-coloured jelly creme. Interesting consistency. It’s much, much thinner in formula compared to the other colours and its shade doesn’t match the whole ‘pastel’ theme going on. Nevertheless, it’s pretty lovely. And I love the name :o)

Today I’ve decided to pick up the game and give you our first makeup product review! Today I’ll be talking about the duo lip glaze pack released by Aveda as part of their 2012 Christmas holiday collection. It was the hand cream and lip glazes that caught my attention and obviously I ended up buying the latter after a couple of months’ dithering. ;D
